Conveyor Maintenance

Search

Initial Chain Tension

Keep up satisfactory chain slack. On the off chance that chain pressure is too high, loss of power will result and can be dangerous. If chain tension is too loose, the chain will climb the sprocket.

Amount of Chain Slack

Regularly check and adjust the amount of chain slack.

Take Up

In case take-up on both sides is uneven, the conveyor chain will not engage smoothly with the sprocket.

Sprocket alignment

When two or more sprockets are installed in a row, be sure to align the position of the sprocket teeth. In case the sprocket teeth are not appropriately adjusted, the working load will not be equally divided and will cause the chain to twist.

Centering

A high-precision Guide rail is fundamental to guarantee proper centering of the Conveyor. In the event that centering isn't accurate (with no side Guide rail), the transport chain will wear and wobble, resulting in a shorter chain life.

Securing Conveyor Parts

Parts fastened to a conveyor, such as buckets, aprons, parts slats, etc., are apt to loosen due to vibration. Be sure to fasten nuts and bolts securely and check them periodically.

Lubrication

Lubricate conveyor chain periodically, except for conveyors that require no lubrication.

Temperature

When contrasts in temperature, such as summer and winter or between day and night in winter, are severe, conveyor harm may happen. Under these circumstances, operate the conveyor carefully, taking any variations in temperature into consideration.

Conveyor Use & Maintainance Record

After installing the conveyor, prepare a record of the maintenance record expected capacity to be conveyed, conveyor speed, r.p.m. of main shaft, electric current, voltage, working hours, actual conveying capacity, inspection date, lubricating date, details of trouble, etc. This will serve as assurance against unforeseen circumstances and is also convenient for upkeep and repairs.
